This month we are celebrating a milestone for our Bridgend office.
Just five years ago, we opened the office employing four members of staff and, in a relatively short period of time, the team has grown to 20. Our clients now benefit from a comprehensive range of personal and commercial legal services delivered by a formidable team of experts who are based in our Elm Court Office.
About Our Bridgend Office
Primarily established as our ‘Conveyancing Centre for Excellence’ the team in Bridgend are working with local house buyers and sellers, as well as those from across the UK who have been recommended to use our services by national estate agents and mortgage lenders.
As the team has grown, we have introduced additional legal services to our Bridgend office that includes family law, employment law, commercial litigation and private client for wills and probate.
Vanessa Evans was one of the first members of staff to be recruited to work from our Bridgend office and is now a Conveyancer. Commenting on the achievements of the Bridgend office over the past five years, Vanessa said:
“Howells’ aim is to be a UK top five firm and, if that is achieved, this would probably result in a doubling of our staff numbers. Our ambition in Bridgend has been supported by the Welsh Government which awarded us financial assistance via the Welsh Economic Growth Fund to open our town centre office in 2014. The purpose of this funding is to assist companies to increase the number of individuals that they employ. We opened the office with four members of staff and now employ 20.
“Conveyancing is a very competitive industry, but our approach has seen us reach a position of some prominence in the UK - we are ranked 15th in terms of Land Registry Data, which records the number of transactions registered at HM Land Registry. We view this as a massive achievement and this makes us the most significant player in this market in Wales by some margin.”
Our Bridgend team have continuously surpassed the objectives for the office and, in addition, we were very pleased to be recently shortlisted in the Professional Services Business of the Year category of the Bridgend Business Forum Awards.
