We have further strengthened our IT department as we prepare to launch a massive overhaul of our internal systems that will involve the integration of custom-built software with visual files, a bespoke legal workflow and case management system.

A New Expert Will Lead the Way

Victoria Power joins Howells to lead the systems development team and will be working alongside the other members of the IT department as they plan and implement the roll out of the new systems.

Having previously undertaken similar roles and responsibilities for other law practices across the UK, Victoria will be utilising her extensive experience to ensure not only a smooth transition but to also maximise the efficiency and productivity gains the new systems have the capability of providing.

Explaining what her new role will involve, Victoria said:

“Howells Solicitors’ growth over the past five years has exceeded their planned development. Although the current software has been able to keep up with the increased workloads and staff numbers, it is beginning to reach a critical point and it will be my responsibility to manage the system’s change, including training the staff. It’s going to be a phased process across our six offices with minimal disruption.”

We recognised the size of the project and the necessity to recruit a dedicated, experienced systems development professional. Mark Hobbs, Managing Director said:

“Whilst we have invested in upgrading our IT hardware and telephony systems over the past couple of years, we now need to do the same for our software systems. It’s not a straight forward task and we recognised that we needed a professional with Victoria’s experience to lead the project.

“Victoria has already begun to address the task in hand and will be working with our own in-house team and external companies to successfully roll out the new internal systems as well as overseeing the training of our staff.”
