Job Description
We are looking for a self motivated and enthusiastic Solicitor to join our Personal Injury team on a full time, permanent basis. This role will play a crucial role in supporting our fee earners with the management of Personal Injury cases. You will support a caseload of personal injury cases and support the growth of our services through effective business development initiatives and strategies. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or Licensed Legal Practitioner to progress their career within this area of law.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Supporting our fee earners with the management of their caseload of personal injury cases.
- Identifying business development opportunities and leading on any initiatives or events, including the coordination and organisation of such events.
- Drafting Claim Notification Forms.
- Drafting variety of court documents including witness statements.
- Drafting instructions to counsel and medical experts.
- Drafting Schedules of Loss and court documents.
- Reviewing medical evidence.
- Preparing bundles.
- Liaising with clients where necessary.
- Conducting legal research.
- Assessing and advising on evidence, liability, and quantum.
- Working efficiently, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing tasks.
- Maintaining strong file management skills.
- Collaborating with the team to achieve unit objectives.
What we’re looking for:
- A qualified Solicitor or a Licensed Legal Practitioner (CILEX)
- Knowledge of personal injury case handling is essential.
- Experience of running cases through a low value claims portal.
- Experience in assisting or handling your own litigated caseload. Multi-track experience is advantageous as the caseload will be truly varied.
- Ability to assess and advise on evidence, causation, liability, and quantum.
- Familiarity with CPR, rules on evidence, litigation process, and funding as applicable
- Self-motivator with a strong commercial acumen.
- Charismatic and passionate about cross-selling and upselling of services.
- Experience in business development is desirable.
- Strong commercial awareness and demonstrating a commitment to developing the business of the firm.
- Strong ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence in using Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Experience in handling Fast Track claims, including the litigation process.
- Proven ability in numeracy and strong verbal and written communication skills.
