The Government has announced the National Minimum Wage rates for 2025, including the National Living Wage. These rates will apply from 1st April 2026.
What is minimum wage increasing to in 2026?
According to the National Minimum Wage 2026 update, which comes into effect at the start of April, legal minimum wages are going up across the board for employees of all ages. Here’s our minimum wage rise breakdown:
New Wage Rates:

| 18 to 20 | £10.00 | £10.85 | 85p | 8.5% |

| Apprentice | £7.55 | £8.00 | 45p | 6.0% |
Apprentice wages
Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they’re either:
- aged 19 or under
- aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship
Apprentices are entitled to the minimum wage for their age if they:
- are aged 19 or over; and
- have completed the first year of their apprenticeship
Employer responsibilities and employee rights
Employers should review their employees’ current wages and ensure that their pay is in line with the minimum wage rise, taking their age into account.
