Charity Work

#TeamHowells
We take our corporate social responsibility seriously and have supported many local and national charities over the years. We hope to make a real difference to people’s lives by contributing to the charity’s hard work and supporting their fundraising.
Each year, our employees nominate charities that align with our firm’s values. We’re delighted that our chosen charity for 2026 is City Hospice.
City Hospice
City Hospice is Cardiff’s local hospice which is dedicated to providing compassionate care to patients across Cardiff. The team at City Hospice is committed to managing symptoms and offering essential support, ensuring that each person in their care can live their lives to the fullest for as long as possible.
Every month, City Hospice welcomes new patients referred by the palliative care team at Velindre Cancer Centre, the University Hospital of Wales, or from their own GPs. They support individuals with a range of diagnoses, including Cancer, Dementia, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and other life-limiting illnesses. Their community palliative care services are available to all residents of Cardiff, from the age of 18 and upwards.
Team Howells have elected City Hospice as their charity of the year 2025 because the charity alligns with the values of their CSR Committee, Liz Garrido Williams, Chair of the committee said;
“We are honored to support City Hospice as our Charity of the Year. Their dedication to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to those in need is truly inspiring. We look forward to working closely with them and contributing to their mission of making a positive impact on the lives of patients and their families during their most challenging times.”
Team Howells are looking forward to arranging fundraising events and supporting City Hospice with their vision, that their palliative care and bereavement counselling services are widely recognised as reflecting best practice in a centre of excellence; that the charity is embraced and supported by the people and institutions of Cardiff as their leading local charity.

Our work in local communities
Our solicitors regularly give talks to the elderly and those with vulnerable dependents on how to protect their assets and plan their taxes. We work closely with local charities such as Alzheimer’s Society, Mencap, Age UK, and Bridgend Carers Centre.
If you work for a charity and would like us to give a talk to the people you support, please get in touch. We’d be happy to help.
