Remortgage conveyancing in Cardiff, Newport & Swansea, Wales

Are you looking to raise additional funds or to consolidate debts by pulling money out of your property? Perhaps you’re coming to the end of a fixed term period and you want to change lender in order to secure a better rate of interest on your property? Whatever the reason behind your remortgage, you will need the conveyancing services of an experienced property team, such as the one at Howells Solicitors.

What does the remortgaging process involve?

The first step in the remortgaging process is checking your current mortgage arrangement to assess whether it is the correct time to refinance or not. If so, you should get all your documentation in order, assess the type of mortgage deal you require, then start shopping around. We would always recommend comparing deals and utilising the experience of a financial expert wherever possible.

Once you have found the deal for you and have approached the lender, you will be asked to fill in an application form and to choose either their appointed conveyancer or to select your own. That’s where we come in.

Following this, you will receive a mortgage offer and complete with your new lender – usually a few weeks later. Last but not least, speak to your bank and make sure your repayments get redirected to your new lender.

Do I need a solicitor to remortgage my home?>

Legal work is an essential part of the remortgaging process in order to remove the original lender’s interest from the property and replace it with the new lender. However, it doesn’t have to be a costly or lengthy experience. We aim to make the remortgaging process as quick and straightforward as possible.

Our team of experienced conveyancing solicitors will take care of all the legal paperwork required and ensure that both parties provide and secure all the documents required for a smooth refinancing deal.
