Other Licensing Work
All other application or licensing work, including defending or assisting in any applications by a relevant authority to amend or revoke a licence, will be charged at the hourly rate of the solicitor handling your case. The fees will depend on the complexities and duration of the case and the actual work involved.

Timescales
The time that it takes from taking your initial instructions to the final resolution of your matter depends on what you have asked us to do.
- Full applications for a Premise Licence and an application to modify a Premises Licence can take 6 weeks to 2 months.
- Temporary Event Licences will take a few hours for our experienced solicitors to draft and must be submitted to the relevant licensing authority between 10 and five days before the event.
- Disputed cases in relation to modification or revocation of a licence will depend on whether the case proceeds to a full hearing but can last anything from a few weeks to a few months to resolve.
These are estimates. We will provide a more accurate timescale once we have more information and as the matter progresses.
Disbursements
Disbursements are any costs or expenses paid or to be paid to a third party on behalf of a client (including any VAT element), save for office expenses such as postage and courier fees.
Counsel’s Fees
The most common disbursement for this type of work is Counsel’s fees, which are the costs of the barrister for the final hearing. Counsel’s fees for attending hearings (including preparation) are estimated between £1,500 and £25,000 plus VAT, depending on the experience of the advocate, the complexity of the matter, and the length of the hearing.
