Where Were You Born and When did You Qualify?
Although I was born in Cardiff, I have lived in Newport for most of my life, its where I went to school, and now my home.
I studied Law and French in Swansea University and qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2003.
Why Did You Choose a Career in Law and Your Specialist Area?
I knew I wanted to study and have a career in law from a very young age.
Whilst studying at University, the land law and trust law aspects of my degree appealed to me the most, and after graduating, whilst on my LPC course, I really enjoyed the Conveyancing module. I knew that property law was where my strengths and interest lay.
What Are Your Favourite Aspects of Residential Conveyancing?
I take a lot of satisfaction knowing that my team and I help our clients with one of the biggest purchases they will ever make. It makes me happy to think of my clients in their new homes, and all the lovely memories they will make there. It is nice to be a part of that.
Another aspect of property law I really enjoy is investigating unregistered titles and checking through the historical deeds. Although these are few and far between now, it is still interesting to deal with something that is ancient and the details these can provide!
Can You Provide an Overview to Demonstrate the Variety of Cases You Have Worked on?
During my career, I have helped clients successfully complete a comprehensive range of sale and purchase transactions including:

What Are Your Career Ambitions?
My immediate goal is to develop my IT skills further, as I believe the future of conveyancing lies in the digital realm, as highlighted over the last year. When we had to work from home, Howells invested in software that enabled us to do this successfully.
In the long-term, I would like to offer help and support to new conveyancers. I had invaluable support at the start of my career from some great mentors, and I would like to pay this kindness back.
Outside of Work, What Do You Enjoy Doing in Your Spare Time?
Outside of work my passion is Pilates. It is so good for my mind and body, and I find it really helps me manage the stress, as working in conveyancing can be a challenge!
