We are delighted to announce that Sophie Bush has successfully completed her training contract with us and is now our most recent newly qualified solicitor.

Sophie is a graduate from the University of Glamorgan and has been part of our team since 2015 earning a great deal of respect from her colleagues and clients alike.

As required by any trainee undertaking a training contract, Sophie has spent time gaining experience and learning new skills in our conveyancing, employment law, family and commercial departments.

Explaining her career progression to date, Sophie said:

“I have been working at Howells since graduating and was keen to continue to pursue a career in law, hence being delighted when I secured a place on their training programme. It has been a steep learning curve and provided me with a valuable insight into four specialist areas, as well as working with clients. Throughout the contract I had the constant support of senior members of each department which was reassuring. It has been a challenging, enjoyable and incredibly rewarding two years.”

The Next Step

“Now that I have completed my training contract and am a qualified solicitor, I can choose which area of law I want to specialise in. Whilst I genuinely enjoyed my time in each of the departments, I have chosen to work in the Howells conveyancing department in Cardiff.”

“In the near future, I will be responsible for developing my own conveyancing team as I continue to learn and gain more experience. I’m excited at the prospect and look forward to continuing my legal career at Howells. Perhaps in the future, I will have the opportunity to mentor junior members of the team as they aim to qualify as solicitors.”

A Shining Example to All of Us

Offering his congratulations to Sophie, Mark Hobbs, Managing Director here at Howells said:

“Since her first day at Howells, Sophie has worked diligently and become a highly regarded and respected member of our team. We are as pleased as Sophie that she has qualified and accepted our offer to become a solicitor here.

“Our training programme has been very successful, and we enjoy a high retention rate with many of our solicitors qualifying and continuing their careers at Howells. Seven more law graduates have already started their training contracts and we are currently shortlisting applicants for the next intake.”
