Karis Jones, Assistant Solicitor in the Family Law department of our Cardiff office went back to school to talk to year 11 students studying the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Law and Legal Work in the city’s Willows High School.
The presentation focused on Parental Responsibility and Public Law Children Matters. During the session Karis helped the students understand the legal definitions and implications regarding these areas of law and provided examples of cases she has worked on.
Joanne Brace, Head of French and Law was delighted to welcome Karis to the school, she said, “Learning first hand from a professional like Karis who deals with these cases on a daily basis really helps to bring the subject to life for the students and the examples provided demonstrated how the law works in practice.”
Karis Jones said, “We were pleased to have the opportunity to work with a local school and help their students. The feedback from Mrs Brace and her students was most appreciated.”
