About Gillian
Gillian didn’t follow a traditional route into the law. Her undergraduate degree is in
information systems and politics, which Gillian says has proven useful as it’s given her a great grounding in office technology.
Gillian completed a graduate diploma in law gaining a commendation at Plymouth University and the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University gaining a distinction. She qualified as a solicitor in August 2020
Gillian started her legal career with another firm in Cardiff and joined Howells in 2016 as an assistant in the conveyancing team. She completed her training contract with us and on qualifying joined the private client team, a seat she’d enjoyed during her training.
Gillian gets great satisfaction from being able to help people when they’re going through a difficult time in their life. Before working in law, Gillian worked for Cardiff Council, supporting people who were homeless or suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and mental health issues. This experience helped Gillian understand the difficulties vulnerable adults and their families face and how important it is to protect their interests.
Gillian has a pottery studio in her garden and in her spare time can be found making things out of clay.
