What is an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)?

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) have been introduced by the Government to help improve the energy efficiency of buildings.

If you are selling a home you need an Energy Performance Certificate by law as part of your Home Information pack. EPCs are now also required whenever a property is built, sold or rented out. The certificate provides 'A' to 'G' ratings for the building, with 'A' being the most energy efficient and 'G' being the least energy efficient.
