Howells Solicitors welcomes it’s newest addition Chris Cotterill to their Newport Office, who brings with him a wealth of experience.
Chris has been a qualified solicitor for over thirty years and has spent twenty years as a partner at Gartsides Solicitors. Chris joins Howells from Gabb and Co solicitors in Abergavenny and specialises in Civil litigation, including large personal injury and medical negligence cases, Commercial Litigation and Contract Disputes. In addition Chris also has vast experience in Family Litigation.
Chris’ experience also boosts impressive success rates on high profile litigation cases having obtained damages in excess of one million pounds for clients. These cases include Organophosphate Litigation, otherwise known as Sheep Dip Cases and a highly publicised shipping disaster case that occurred in the late 1980’s. In addition Chris has dealt with an array of personal injury cases involving health and safety failures, including Deafness, Vibration White Finger and Asbestosis. Chris has been a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel since 1995 and a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers since 2007.
Outside of work Chris is a keen sportsman having captained the English University’s Rugby team whilst at University and going on to play top class rugby for another ten years. Chris still plays Club Cricket and enjoys hill walking in his spare time.
Chris is a welcome addition to the, already successful Newport office, which is one of Howells Solicitors five branches. The other branches can be found in Cardiff, Swansea, Caerphilly and Talbot Green. Mr Philip Howell, founder partner of the firm states ‘We are delighted that Chris with his vast experience has joined our Newport office. We have found that as we have become more established in the Newport area we have received a very high demand to provide legal services in the areas where Chris has substantial expertise. We look forward to working with him.”
